I’m Nikoo!
I’m the founder of Wiggle Bottom Canines, a graduate of the Karen Pryor Academy for Animal Training and Behavior, with a PhD in ethics. My goal is to help families overcome challenges and create joy with their dog with training that works!
My Journey
My journey into dog training started by completing a local teacher training program before graduating from the Karen Pryor Academy, the industry’s gold standard for dog training, with distinction. My goal is to help dogs and their humans navigate the overwhelming and unregulated world of the pet care industry.
Combining a PhD in ethics, with excellence in dog training, and volunteer experience at the Edmonton Humane Society, makes me uniquely qualified to support dogs and their humans in any context. I’m also a presenter for the Pet Professionals Guild and have upcoming talks for the Karen Pryor Academy on ethical dog training.
Today, I work with dogs of all ages and breeds, and offer everything from puppy basics, to advanced training, to behaviour modification. I use effective positive reinforcement, force-free training for long-term results.

My passion for ethical training stems from my PhD, grounded on a deep understanding of animals, along with training and volunteer experience with dogs in various settings. I continually refine my knowledge, skills, and practice through countless hours of continuing education on the latest innovations to best serve my families.
Why Wiggle Bottoms?
Because learning is most effective when it’s fun! The name Wiggle Bottom Canines is inspired by the fun, happy dog body language I love to see when training – wiggly little bottoms, excited to learn and have fun.
